Abstract
Within the framework of the global subject “European social policy” the Volkswagen-Stiftung is financing the research project “Long-Term Care in the EU — An Institutional and Empirical Comparative Survey with Respect to Possibilities and Problems of Convergence” (PflEG-Project). One of the aims of the PflEG-Project is to give a cross-national comparative analysis of the national long-term care programmes in the European Union and Scandinavia. A comparison of national long-term care systems will have to start with an identification of all relevant parts of each national system that provide care benefits and services. For this purpose we are producing reports on each national system, which are made by post-graduate students and will be brought into a comparative synopsis at the end of the project.
