Characterization of RF-Squids

Fabricated From Epitaxial Yba2Cu3O7 Films

Abstract

The purpose of our work was to evaluate rf-SQUIDs with weak-link microbridges engineered in epitaxial high-temperature-superconductor (HTS) YBa2Cu3O2 (YBCO) films. The rf-SQUID was also a convenient tool to evaluate the feasibility of alternative approaches to weak link fabrication. In the absence of HTS Josephson tunnel junctions, weak links having reproducible critical current (IC) and resistance (Rn) values set by design could be used in commercial HTS SQUIDs and other integrated circuits.
