Abstract
At the beginning of this century the crux of the blood coagulation problem centered on the question: what activates prothrombin? Answers commonly turned out to be found inside the diciplines of basic sciences. As these and clinical sciences developed, their language accomodated the phenomenon designated prothrombin activation.
