  • Chapter
The Global Geometry of Turbulence

Part of the book series: NATO ASI Series ((NSSB,volume 268))

Abstract

The generation and dynamics of large scale vortices in turbulent shear flows, as well as their participation in the structure of turbulence and the transport processes associated with it, have been the subject of investigation for the past few decades (1–10).
