Abstract

It is shown that the bound state problem posed by the Schrödinger equation can be solved by means of spectrum generating algebra techniques for all potentials for which it can be reduced either to a confluent hypergeometric form or to a general hypergeometric form. The connection with supersymmetric quantum mechanics is analysed in the case of the Morse potential.
