Predefined Attribute ’Ascending

  • Chapter
VHDL’92

Abstract

In some cases, the logic of operations performed on an array depends on its direction: to or downto. If this direction is not known in advance, e.g. because this array is declared as an unconstrained formal parameter of a subprogram, the predefined attributes LEFT, RIGHT, HIGH, and LOW can be used.
