Abstract
Industry produces solid, liquid and gaseous waste. The re-use of industrial waste inside the factory itself as raw material and in heat-recovery plants are possibilities that must always be investigated. The main aspects to point out are: the chemical composition of the waste, the possibility of re-use for internal process, the technology available for treatment, waste produced by treatment plants and the consequent air and water pollution and also the economic viability, taking into account environmental, energy and operating costs.
