Abstract
This morning, I will offer a commonsense view of the economic forces that are shaping the Southwest economy relative to the national and global economies. For the third time in the four years of this conference’s history, I have the dubious distinction of addressing the issue of long-term economic growth in the Southwest. And, of course, my views are published in the proceedings of this conference, so my forecasting record is open to public scrutiny.
