Abstract
Unless the equipment is of small dimensions, with all components housed on a single card, the likelihood is that a mother board will be incorporated in the design. Although some mother boards contain active devices (bulky discrete components, power supplies, etc.), their major function is to effect interconnection between the daughter cards and with the I/O lines.
