Abstract
The term “controlling” necessarily implies the prerequisite idea of “understanding.” It basically takes two things to constitute a radio transmitter (intentional or otherwise): a signal source and an antenna. We have discussed the fortuitous antenna in Chapter 2. Here, we will address the most elementary building block in the system with regard to its ability to act as an efficient RF source. Interestingly, most of the parameters and behaviors that we will discuss are also major players in the susceptibility and self-compatibility of our equipment.
