Abstract

In the proposed “Guidelines for clinical evaluation of antiepileptic drugs” from the Commission on Antiepileptic Drugs of the International League Against Epilepsy (1987) “Seizure frequency” is one of the evaluation parameters from late phase I studies onwards. In phase II studies other seizure related parameters are added such as length of seizure-free intervals, seizure duration and seizure pattern.
