Influence of Measuring Fields, Traffic Lanes and Sections on the Characteristics of the Longitudinal Ultrasonic Wave Propagation

The condition of flexible pavement surface layer was described by means of the ultrasonic method. This method was also used to observe changes taking place in the condition of the surface layer in time. “In situ” ultrasonic tests of the surface layer have been carried out in an experimental section in Serbska St., Poznan. Between November 1984 and September 1990, the measurements were taken 18 times. In the article for the 19th International Symposium on Acoustical Imaging, the ultrasonic surface method and the technology of taking the measurements were described. Results of the measurements were presented in the form of an ultrasonic image of the surface layer.
