Abstract
Dendritic cells (DC) have been found to exist as antigen-presenting cells in nonlymphoid and lymphoid tissues. 1,2 They play an important role in modulation of the immune reaction. 3,4 Blood dendritic cells (BDC), like other types of DC, exhibit distinct cellular characteristics and a strong potency to stimulate lymphocyte proliferation. 5, 6 Cell interaction via adhesion molecules has been demonstrated to function as a co-stimulatory signal in the T cell stimulation. 7,8 The blockage of adhesion molecules or their ligands by antibodies could reduce cell interaction and function.9,10
