Abstract
The aim of the suggested experiment is to study the influence of microgravity on the repair of radiation induced genetic damage. A mutant of yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae (rad 54-3), which is temperature-conditional for repair, is exposed to radiation and microgravity and incubated in space at the permissive and restrictive temperature. Thus it is possible to assess the influence of microgravity on cellular repair processes. Ground experiments have already shown the applicability of this concept.
