Vitamin A and Immunity

  • Chapter
Nutrition and Immunology

Part of the book series: Human Nutrition ((HUNU))

Abstract

This review describes effects of retinoids on cells of the immune system. A brief overview of vitamin A metabolism will be presented, followed by a summary of development and function of the immune system. The known points on impact of retinoids on the development and function on cells of the immune system will then be presented and discussed.
