Abstract
Strategic systems shape or support the competitive strategy of the organization for the intermediate and long term. These systems are intended to produce a strategic thrust of some type, which occurs when an edge is gained or maintained over a competitor or a competitor’s advantage is decreased. A strategic system may be manifested internally by changing the organizational climate or effecting a new or better set of business opportunities. Externally a strategic system may be implemented for improving client relations, differentiating products and services, and engaging in new business opportunities.
