Abstract
This second WRI international conference was convened two years after the first conference which introduced this series by broad topical coverage of Directions in Electromagnetic Wave Modeling. This broad theme was chosen intentionally to provide an overview of cutting edge issues — both analytic and numerical — that confront electromagnetic wave modelers in diverse natural and manmade environments, responding to needs driven by new technologies, system requirements and other missions, with an awareness of recent developments in processing of data. The relevance of these issues was underscored by presentations from program managers in various government agencies. The hard-copy Proceedings of the first conference, published by Plenum Press in 1991, attests to the variety of strategies, techniques and models that are being explored to cope with these problems.
