Abstract

Metal cans have dominated sectors of the food and beverage markets for many years because of their cost effectiveness, durability and the overall protection they provide for their contents. The past 20 years have seen dramatic changes in can-making technology and in the materials used to make cans and closures. Can manufacture has become increasingly a high technology business.
