Abstract

Numerous kinds of factors enable or constrain HCI design. They include the U-factors (Chapter 3), A-factors (Chapter 4), and I-factors (Chapter 5). Each of the three major entities is also dependent on structures (Treu, 1992). Although they may not be recognized explicitly, they become implicit features in design. In addition, there are other factors, e.g., administrative directions, which must be taken into account.
