Horn Mouth Size Versus −6 dB Beamwidth Control

  • John M. Eargle

The data presented at Figure 57 A show the approximate beamwidth behavior of a typical 90°×40° high-frequency horn. We can identify clearly the frequencies at which the nominal -6 dB horizontal and vertical beamwidths have doubled. The frequencies at which this occurs can be easily estimated from the horn mouth dimension in the plane we are concerned with.
