Polar Response of an Unbaffled Piston
An unbaffled piston acts as a dipole; it has a characteristic symmetrical polar pattern at all frequencies that exhibits zero response along the ±90° axes. Furthermore, the front and back response at all frequencies will be in opposite polarity.
