Abstract
In Chapter 3, we touched upon the analogy between the diffraction of x-rays and that of visible light. Here, we extend that discussion and deal with some aspects of the Fourier transform. As examples of this theory, we shall anticipate some material that will be developed more fully in the rest of this book, treated there in a slightly different but complementary manner.
