Abstract
Case History 16–1. A 25-year old white male auto body mechanic in July, developed numbness in the median nerve distribution of the left hand with pain at the left wrist, shooting into the index, middle and ring fi8ngers. And aching pain in finger joints. To a lesser degree, similar symptoms had developed in the right hand. The clinical impression of bilateral carpal tunnel syndrome was confirmed by nerve conduction studies. In addition the patient presented many of the facial features of acromegaly; coarse lips, large jaw and nose. None of his family had similar facial features and according to his mother, these features had emerged about age 12.
