The TEXT-TO-ONTO Environment

Abstract

Following the point of view that “the proof is in the pudding”, the methodological and theoretical research results of this book have been implemented in the comprehensive Text-To-Onto ontology learning environment. Text-To-Onto is the “running result” of the research described in this book¹. Text-To-Onto is roughly separated into two main, historically caused parts: In part I of this book the fundamentals of ontologies, ontology engineering and ontology-based applications were introduced. According to these fundamentals an environment for manually engineering and managing ontologies, the OntoEdit ontology engineering environment, has been designed.
