Abstract

For the past decade, the Human Resources (HR) profession has been undergoing a fundamental shift—from performing as a tactical administrative function to performing as a strategic and consultative business-planning group. While this shift has been underway for some time, it has suddenly accelerated because HR is using a whole new set of solutions made possible by Internet technologies. Early experiences with Internet-powered HR transformations have illuminated the possibilities of “eHR” for transforming not only the human resources function, but also the organization’s relationship with its workforce—one employee at a time.
