Abstract

Part 1 of the JPEG2000 standard specifies a comparatively rigid set of transformations which are applied to the image samples to produce quantized subband sample indices; the quantization indices are then passed to the block coder. The various transformations are identified in Figure 10.1, which also indicates the major parameters which are available to control the behaviour of each type of transformation.
