Attitudes Towards the Mental Health Professionals
Negative attitudes towards professionals are widespread amongst the population, and largely fomented by films, novels or the press. These stereotypes are sustained to different degrees by the public in relation to social variables such as age (the image is worse in older subjects and in those with a lower socio-cultural status), but not gender.
