Abstract

Cadmium stannate spinel (Cd2SnO4) thin films were deposited by sol-gel process on glass substrates using a dip-coating technique. The films were transparent to visible light, and x-ray diffraction showed a single cubic spinel phase only. Films were obtained with an optical transmission of 78%, and their thickness was around 0.28 µm, with electrical conductivities σ as high as 2.1xl04(Ωm)-1.
