Abstract
What possible role does emergency medicine play in the international arena? This paper will discuss the numerous ways that the emergency medicine physician can contribute to international medicine. Emergency medicine physicians are well suited to work in international medicine for a variety of reasons. They have a broad knowledge of almost all aspects of medicine, excellent clinical skills, and work well under pressure. Our specialty and colleagues should remember that one does not necessarily have to go to remote corners of the world to make a difference.
