Fractal singularities and the rate of multiphoton dissociation

During the past decade or so, theory and computational results on nonlinear dynamics have provided insight into multiphoton ionization and dissociation processes induced by strong laser fields1-5. The classical results have often been found to provide information in harmony with the quantum ones. Even in the case where there is no such consensus, the comparative study of classical and quantum dynamics helps to distinguish the specific quantum features of the observed behavior. In this work, we deal with the classical dynamics of a diatomic molecule (vibrating as a Morse oscillator) interacting with a strong non- perturbative laser field.
