Abstract
Most students, at various levels, are Probably familiar with unit systems. In this chapter, we provide some details of the International System of Units and its relation to the English Engineering system. Our main purpose is to ensure that students cannot only use different systems but also convert units among different systems. In addition, students will gain an understanding of the different approximate dimensions and sizes that occur frequently in the field of chemical and bioprocess engineering.
A long time ago, many kings, including Charlemagne, wanted to have a common system of measurements. However, it was only from the eighteenth century (several centuries later) that humans began to settle on a unified system of units. History suggests that France had a large number of systems, growing to over 700 different units by the end of the eighteenth century.
Undoubtedly, harmonization and standardization into a universal system was much needed and greatly facilitated the development of communities and nations.
As in most chapters, you will find many examples and proposed and solved problems. In particular, in this chapter you will encounter and be challenged by 53 intriguing problems.
The mind, once expanded to the dimensions of larger ideas, never returns to its original size

According to String Theory, what appears to be empty space is actually a tumultuous ocean of strings vibrating at the precise frequencies that create the 4 dimensions you and I call height, width, depth and time
