Abstract
Radiation therapy is an important modality used in the treatment of many head and neck malignancies as part of the local tumor management. Radiotherapy is used in cases of unresectable or high-grade tumors. Improvements in technology such as the use of intensity-modulated radiation therapy or proton beam will help to minimize the late effects of treatment.
