Abstract

Rhabdomyomas are exceedingly rare benign tumors, which arise from striated muscle. Over 95 % of extracardiac rhabdomyomas are located in the head and neck region. Rhabdomyomas are independent entities to rhabdomyosarcomas and it is important to differentiate them histopathologically. Complete surgical resection is usually curative.
