Abstract

The patient was brought into the operating room and placed in the supine position. After induction of general anesthesia, prophylactic antibiotics were given. A Foley catheter was sterilely placed. The patient was placed in the left lateral decubitus position on a Capello positioner. All extremities were well padded. The appropriate leg was prepped and draped for surgery. An incision was carried out starting 4–5 cm above the greater trochanter and slightly posteriorly, going over the greater trochanter, and distally over the lateral shaft of the femur for 6 cm.
