Operative Dictations in Orthopedic Surgery

Abstract

The patient was identified as the correct person in the preoperative holding area and was brought into the operative suite. The patient was placed supine on the operative table and the patient identified the operative site and procedure to be done. The patient was then gently induced into general anesthesia and an endotracheal tube was placed. The patient was then repositioned into the right/left lateral decubitus position. An axillary roll was placed and all bony prominences were well padded. The patient was given perioperative antibiotics. The patient was then prepped and draped in the normal sterile fashion.
