Abstract

Chronic lower extremity arterial occlusive disease and carotid artery stenosis are common problems faced by most vascular surgeons. Due to technological advancements in stent technology, lower profile delivery systems, and the dexterity of vascular interventionalists, endovascular therapy of the femoropopliteal and cerebrovascular systems has gained wide acceptance. However, in-stent restenosis continues to limit the longevity of percutaneous vascular interventions. This chapter examines the management of patients with in-stent restenosis after femoropopliteal and carotid artery angioplasty and stenting.
