Abstract
An important responsibility of the pediatrician is to prepare parents and caregivers for medical emergencies. Anticipatory guidance involves education on what constitutes an emergency, the do’s and don’ts in medical emergencies, an understanding of the EMS response, navigating the emergency medical system and prevention of illness and injuries.
