Abstract
Everyone experiences loss. We can learn to tolerate our more common losses in everyday life through observance of those who must cope with severe situations of loss. Momentum can be lost due to loss of employment or loss of relationships. Hopes and dreams, once vibrant, can wither as a result of loss, felt in our interiority. To reconnect, taking an inventory of strengths and weaknesses and establishing achievable goals with the help of a mentor, coach or therapist can help a person reconnect with the world. Accountability is a form of connectedness. Patience and sustained effort will help a person to realize goals and over the long run will compound into large improvements. Self-directed behavior modification or modification guided by a therapist or coach is the key to successfully overcoming many obstacles. People who do not set meaningful goals may revert to past activities or events to occupy their thoughts. Introspective thinking allows a person to review what occurred in way that allows for modeling of change for revision in order to achieve better results. The courageous person learns from mistakes and tries always to do better.
