Abstract
This laboratory demonstrates simple preference testing using a two-product choice format and acceptance testing using a nine-point hedonic scale. Several products are recommended either in low-sodium or low-fat versions, to compare to the common or traditional form of the product. Various options for handling the no preference votes are explored. Simple data analysis using the z-score approximation to the binomial (for choice data) and the paired t-test (for scaled data) is required.
