The Application of Computer-Aided Teaching in Semiconductor Physics

Abstract

“Semiconductor physics” is one of important professional courses for students who study in information science specialty. Its’ main contents contain the basic properties and the internal mechanisms in semiconductor materials and devices. In our teaching practice, computer-aided teaching methods including multimedia, process simulation and device simulation software were introduced. By multimedia, students can observe the vivid microscopic physics phenomena in class; with the simulation software, students can design the new type semiconductor devices independently out of classroom. These teaching methods made up the lack of experimental conditions and excited the interests of students effectively. Eventually it will help students to better understand and master the semiconductor physics theory.
