Abstract

Webb held a series of meetings in mid-August 1967 to determine what to do about the budget cuts. He wanted to preserve the agency’s capability, and expressed concern about keeping the Saturn V production line open. NASA studied the impact of stretching out schedules and placing spending controls on contractors. Boeing evaluated the anticipated impact on the Saturn Program, and the administrator appointed an internal working group to review the probable effect on the Apollo Applications Program.
