Abstract
There are many different tools available and lots of information at your disposal that will aid you in figuring out how to improve your imaging and image quality. Probably the most useful tool and source of information that you can use is known as the histogram display. A histogram is a graphic representation showing a visual picture of the distribution of data. For imaging purposes, the histogram represents the distribution of the photons, or light, being captured by all of the pixels on your imaging chip. This is a very powerful tool to help you make sure you are capturing your data in the best possible area of the dynamic range of your imaging chip.
