Abstract

Remotely-sensed data has been transformative for our understanding of oceanography, marine and fisheries resources, and space exploration of other planets and extra-planetary areas. This chapter provides a few examples of how satellite remote sensing has been applied to managing vulnerable resources and gaining a better understanding of our universe.
