Abstract
The approach discussed in this book proposes the cooperation of different experts – domain experts, software engineers, ontology engineers – for developing an integrated system. The typical user of such an integrated system may be a domain expert, but neither a software engineer nor an ontology engineer in most cases. In the future, domain experts may want to create their own integrated applications. This chapter reviews the state of the art from an end user’s perspective in Sect. 11.1 and discusses the necessary steps for enabling end users to do build their own ad hoc integrated systems in Sect. 11.2. In Sect. 11.3, we introduce a prototype tool which eases the creation of integrated systems based on the framework discussed in this book.
