Abstract

Transduodenal sphincteroplasty is used when other methods of clearing the common bile duct have failed. A similar approach is sometimes used for local excision of small ampullary adenomas. This chapter details the technique, pitfalls, and strategies for avoiding complications during performance of this procedure.
