Abstract

The nonlinear Poisson–Boltzmann equation and its linearization are introduced together with methods of their solution. Models of electroosmotic flow are reviewed. Expressions for the electrostatic component of disjoining pressure are derived and applied to the problem of film drainage in the presence of electric charges. Electrowetting on dielectric and its applications are discussed.
