In the last chapter, we discussed Kaoru Ishikawa, the father of the fishbone “cause and effect” diagram. Let’s spend a few sentences on our next two heroes – Shewhart and Deming – the fathers of the Pacific Dolphin Swim Association (err, the Plan-Do-Study Act cycle).
