Abstract
Although medical imaging as a profession has some degree of similarity internationally, there are differences among daily practices of radiologic technologists between developed and developing countries; these differences may be attributed to varied access to imaging equipment and supplies, as well as clinical and didactic education. As participants in international radiology outreach initiatives, technologists from developed countries are ideally suited to work side by side with their peers from resource-limited settings to conduct imaging department assessments, provide hands-on clinical training, conduct topic-specific lectures, and help optimize and update department protocols and procedures related to safety and workflow issues.
