Abstract

This month, the glowing band of the Milky Way in the direction of the beautiful constellations of Cassiopeia and Perseus passes high overhead. It offers us an excellent opportunity to go deep-sky hunting in the Cassiopeia Window of the Milky Way. This window is a relatively dust-free stretch of our local spiral arm with a clear view towards the next exterior spiral arm of our galaxy; the Perseus Arm (Fig. 13.1).
