Newly Developed Matching Ferritic Filler-Metal Welding of 9%-Ni Steel

Abstract

To overcome the economical and technical problems well known in high-nickel austenitic consumable welding of 9%-Ni steel, commercial welding processes were developed that employ matching ferritic filler materials having a chemical composition similar to that of the base metal.
